The Granville Village School is in jeopardy of closing. The school is undergoing a feasibility study to see if it is financially viable to keep the facility operating.
The school teaches students grades kindergarten through sixth grade
“This school is really a family, because we are so small, we know all of the students, all the families,” said Linda Christofori, Principal of Granville Village School.
Students were welcomed on their first day with a back to school bash on Thursday.
“We love to see that wow factor when they get off the buses,” said Christofori.
Music, balloons, and games kicked off the school day.
The Granville district previously regionalized with Southwick and Tolland previously. Leaders hope the study will show a need to keep the doors open at the school.
“We’ll see what happens, and we do take it a day at a time. We do the best that we can every single day,” said Christofori.
No plans have been finalized at this time.
