Classic September conditions kick off the work week

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

It's a cool and comfortable start this morning. You will need a light jacket as you leave the house. Temperatures are down into the 40's. An autumn chill is certainly in the air. However, with full sunshine temperatures will warm up quickly, into the 70's this afternoon.

High pressure is in control today, which will give us a sunny day with low humidity and a light breeze. As the high shifts east, things will warm up for Tuesday with temps back to the lower 80's. A cold front is on the way Wednesday, which will bring in more clouds, warmer temps and higher humidity through the day. Showers and a thunderstorm  are possible Wednesday night.

Skies clear quickly for Thursday and we get breezy again behind the cold front and ahead of high pressure. Dew points get quite low, so expect more chilly nights and comfortable days to end the week. The first day of The Big E is looking fantastic with sunny, dry conditions. We look mainly dry into Saturday as well, then possible showers arrive Sunday with another cold front.
