A slow moving cold front will bring a steadier rain to the region overnight and into Monday before drier air moves in for much of the week.
Skies remain cloudy tonight with the chance for a shower this evening and then the steadier rain moves in during the overnight. It will be a mild and muggy night with lows dropping back into the lower and middle 60s.
Showers and thunderstorms continue Monday, then will gradually end from west to east as a cold front finally moves through. Rain could be heavy at times and there could be some street and poor drainage flooding. A mild and humid day is in store with highs topping out in the lower and middle 70s with dew points in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
We will begin drying out Tuesday, as sunshine returns and drier air builds in with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The dry weather could last through much of the week. Fall officially arrives on Thursday morning but it will not feel much like fall as highs on Thursday afternoon could top out in the upper 70s to around 80.
