It's shaping up to be a rather unsettled weekend though it will not be raining all the time. We may see some periods of dry weather from time to time but showers and drizzle can develop at any time so if you have outdoor plans you will want to keep the umbrella handy.
Low pressure sitting off shore, south of Long Island will bring periods of rain to our area through this morning. By the afternoon, the heavier rain bands shift toward the coast and we will have scattered to occasional showers through the rest of the day. We are cloudy and cool with a NE breeze and highs in the mid to upper 50s.
We stay unsettled Sunday with a chance for a shower throughout the day, but it won't be a wash out. The upper low with this system is moving back toward the Ohio Valley this weekend, then will move east over New England Monday and Tuesday-which will keep patchy clouds around and a chance for showers-esp. Monday.
High pressure builds in with more sunshine and more of a temp swing from day to night for Wednesday and Thursday. We will be watching hurricane Matthew over the course of the week to see if its path will come toward New England, or miss us completely. Right now, there is still a ton of uncertainty on its effects to the US.
