It was another cloudy and cool day as we closed out the weekend but it was also a mainly dry day. There is the chance for scattered showers tomorrow before drier air moves in for the middle of the week. By late in the week all eyes will be on Hurricane Matthew.
Skies will remain cloudy tonight with some areas of fog possible and overnight lows dropping back into the upper 40s and lower 50s. A upper low near the Ohio River valley will move east over New England Monday and Tuesday-which will keep patchy clouds around and a chance for showers-esp. Monday.
High pressure builds in with more sunshine and more of a temp swing from day to night for Wednesday and Thursday. We will be watching hurricane Matthew over the course of the week to see if its path will come toward New England, or miss us completely. Right now, there is still a ton of uncertainty on its effects to the US.
The latest on Matthew has it a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 140 mph and moving to the northwest at 5 mph. Hurricane Warnings are posted for Jamaica, Haiti and eastern Cuba with a Hurricane Watch posted for the SE Bahamas.
