Under clear skies, we will cool quickly this evening. Expect dry and chilly weather tonight-perfect for sweatshirts and bonfires! Overnight will get cold with clear skies and calm winds, so expect temperatures in the mid to upper 30s by Thursday morning! Some light frost is even possible on elevated surfaces, like roofs of cars in the early morning hours.
High pressure continues to build into New England over the next 2 days, keeping us dry and sunny Thursday and Friday afternoons. Temperatures continue to warm under an upper level ridge-with highs hitting mid and even upper 70s through the end of the week. We remain chilly at night with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s.
High clouds will be drifting in from an approaching cold front from our west and Matthew-which remains well to our south. The track of Matthew has taken some dramatic changes over the last 24 hours and it looks like Florida to North Carolina get the brunt, then the storm turns out to sea. Our cold front may tap into a little tropical moisture, but right now it looks like a few showers Saturday night into early Sunday and that’s it.
Skies should gradually clear Sunday behind the front and high pressure will bring a shot of cooler temps Monday and Monday night. We are back to seasonable temps and dry weather through first half of next week.
