Skies will gradually clear out overnight and with dry air working back in, expect lows to fall back into the upper 20s and low 30s. It will be a cold and possibly frosty start to the day Thursday, but with plenty of sunshine on tap. A morning northwest breeze will shift southwest in the afternoon and temperatures climb back to seasonable levels in the low 50s.
Some high clouds will be around during the day Thursday, but overall it will be a quiet, fair day. Clouds will increase Thursday night and southwest winds may get a bit gusty, keeping temperatures a bit milder. A strong cold front will sweep through southern New England Friday afternoon, bringing a period of clouds and possibly a stray shower-especially in the Berkshires. Southwest winds through the morning will shift northwest and get gustier through the night.
Wind gusts of 30 to 40mph will be possible Friday night through Saturday behind a strong cold front and ahead of strong high pressure to our west. This wind will help usher in much colder air that will bring low temps into the 20s Friday night and keep highs in the lower to mid 40s Saturday. Wind chills in the 20s and 30s are expected. We’ve got a lot of sunshine on tap this weekend and with high pressure moving south, a westerly wind will bring back seasonable temperatures Sunday through Tuesday.
