First Warning Weather

A mostly sunny but chilly Saturday

Posted: Updated:

It's a chilly start this morning with some areas down in the 20s. We will see a sunny day today with dry air in place, but it remains chilly and brisk with winds of 5-10 mph out of the west and northwest. Highs will top out in the mid and upper 40s. It will feel a bit cooler throughout the day thanks to that bit of a breeze.

High pressure will remain to our southwest this weekend, which will bring sunny skies and dry air. Lighter winds are expected in the valley Saturday night so temperatures should drop into the lower 20s, but the hills will have continued gusty winds-keeping temps in the upper 20s, but wind chills in the teens. Our breeze shifts west Sunday, allowing for moderating temperatures back to the 50s. We continue getting milder into Monday with highs nearing 60.

Low pressure off the Mid Atlantic coast will track northward next week, bringing in more clouds Tuesday and the chance for showers Tuesday afternoon and evening. Showers are possible into Wednesday morning if the low continues north, but there is some question on the timing and closeness to the coastline. For now, showers are possible and clouds will keep temperatures in the 50s. High pressure builds in Thursday and Friday with drier and cooler air.
