Skies become cloudy overnight with lows falling into the lower to mid 30s for most. Temps will start to rise after sunup and rain should hold off until after 7am. Periods of rain are expected much of the day, so grab the umbrella!
Low pressure will continue to move up the East Coast overnight and Tuesday, passing right through southern New England. This low will bring us a nice, soaking rain throughout the day Tuesday with some isolated thunder possible. Most will pick up a half inch of rain with as much as an inch possible in spots (if any weak thunderstorms can come through). We remain chilly with highs in the 40s along with a raw north-northeast breeze.
Rain tapers to drizzle and a few showers Tuesday night, then the sun returns Wednesday with high pressure building in to our south. From Wednesday to Friday we will see good sunshine along with above normal temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60.
A potent area of low pressure will be crossing the upper Midwest this week and will approach the East by this weekend. Clouds will be on the increase Saturday, but dry weather will continue here in New England. This low will be weakening and we aren’t expecting much wet weather, but colder air will move in Sunday and Monday for sure. Cold rain showers Sunday may mix with some wet snowflakes going into Monday!
