Sunshine returns today and the sunny and dry conditions will linger into Monday. A couple of low pressure systems will bring some much needed rain to the region Tuesday - Thursday.
Sunshine will mix with clouds this afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 30s and lower 40s. The breeze will also pick up this with northwesterly winds between 5-15 mph so that will make it feel a bit cooler at times. A cold night is on the way tonight with clear skies and overnight lows dropping back into the lower to middle 20s.
Temperatures will gradually rise heading into next week, with Wednesday being the warmest day of the week. Despite the warm temperatures, we will also have to contend with some soaking rains Tuesday night through Thursday. There are two consecutive low pressure systems that track through the Mid-Atlantic towards New England. The track of the lows determine exactly how much rain we get. At this point, it looks like rain totals could exceed two inches. That would certainly help our drought situation.
