Round two of rain means heavy downpours into the overnight

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

We picked up a much needed 0.5"-1.0" yesterday, and round two of the rain is here. That means another 1-2" possible by the time this system exits by Thursday.

Low clouds and fog will be around into the evening as rain continues. There could be some heavy downpours and even a possible rumble of thunder. Temperatures do stay mild overnight in the mid to upper 40s.

The rain tapers off heading into earlier Thursday morning. The area of low pressure that brought us multiple rounds of rain finally moves away as winds begin to increase for the afternoon.

Thursday afternoon features a mix of sun and clouds as temperatures hover in the low 50s.

Temperatures get cooler Friday, and even cooler for the weekend as colder air sinks in. High pressure will keep conditions dry for the weekend with good sunshine, but it will be chilly and brisk.

There is a chance for some wet weather, even some spotty wintry mix, on Monday. Another chance for some rain and wintry mix arrives on Wednesday.
