The black ice could make it really tricky for drivers heading out tonight.

That’s why many folks rushed to finish their holiday shopping early today.

"This weather has been crazy. I mean just nasty with the rain and the snow and you still have to go out and do some shopping, it’s a lot," said Marcella Gonzalez.

A winter warm-up today was a nice diversion from the bone-chilling temperatures but the temperatures about to plummet are leaving patches of ice and slick roads.

The timing is less than perfect…

"The crowds have been crazy no matter what weather, we still have to get out there and make Christmas ready for us," said Gonzalez.

The Saturday snow and ice kept many folks from checking off their Christmas lists so shoppers opted to pack into store to pick up those last minute goodies to slip under the tree.

"Really wild, I’ve never seen people parked all alongside this to pick up gifts before, pretty crazy this season, I think," said Mercedes Ryan.

The mad rush of shoppers has folks stocking their carts with treasures during the last-minute holiday stretch.

But in the spirit of holiday cheer, many people are taking it all in stride.

"I’m really excited, got my son some awesome gifts, and i’m really excited for Christmas," said Gonzalez.
