CSRA (WFXG) -

Jefferson Energy Cooperative (formerly Jefferson EMC) is currently experiencing outages.

The following counties are affected:

  • Burke County
  • Jefferson County
  • Washington County
  • Columbia County
  • Johnson County
  • Richmond County
  • Emanuel County
  • McDuffie County
  • Jenkins County
  • Glasclock County
  • Warren County

Approximately 1,850 customers are affected by this outage. That's more than 8,000 restored. JEC said in a statement that they

"...must restore power to the greatest number of members first in order to minimize the outage time for the greatest number of people. This involves restoring service to the main lines first, then working on individual services once that work is complete. Due to the unpredictable nature of repairs that are required, and the sequence of events that must occur before individual services are reconnected, it is difficult to provide a specific time of when any given service will be restored. However, it is Jefferson Energy’s goal to have ALL service restored by the end of the week at the latest."
