Target says their lowering prices on thousands of items. According to a post on the company's official blog. It could affect everything from "cereal and paper towels to baby formula, razors, bath tissue and more." The changes to pricing seem to represent a change in strategy by Target. Instead of focusing on promotions, bonus offers, and the "Weekly Wow!", the company plans to put a greater emphasis on lower prices all the time. The company says it's removing two-thirds of the price and offer call-outs to reduce clutter in the store and a create a "more clear - and more consistent savings - at Target."

Target's strategy shake-up comes at a time when retail stores everywhere are struggling under the threat of the likes of Amazon and other online shopping giants. Already stores like RadioShack, Payless, Rue21, Kmart, and JCPenney have announced store closures as brick and mortar shops struggle to keep pace.
