(Meredith) – A Massachusetts woman believes a decorative ornament she bought might be an urn that contains someone’s ashes.
Priscilla Bailey bought what she believes is a misplaced urn at a thrift store, and is hoping to find its rightful home.
“First, I got spooked for a second,” she told CNN and WCVB. “But then, it’s been in the house for all this time. (At least) a couple of weeks now.”
Bailey bought the urn about three weeks ago for $2.99 at “Savers,” a thrift store chain in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
“Somebody had the wherewithal to put it all together and have it made and probably hung it in the house,” Bailey said. “And now, it’s hanging over the sink where I do dishes.”
She and her daughter, Kat Bartlett, called the store to alert them to the situation.
"They said we could return it and they would dispose of it properly,” Bartlett told WCVB. “And that wasn't going to work for me."
Bartlett posted the photo on Facebook to find the owner, but as of this article, no one has claimed it yet.
"I went through our town here in Plymouth-- through the "Plymouth Connection" and "All Things Plymouth" and it's spreading like crazy, so hopefully we find its owner,” Bartlett said.?
