Tech Foundry held a graduation ceremony Thursday for students who completed a program to develop computer science and IT skills.
This comes after Senator Eric Lesser sponsored a successful amendment in the state budget that provided the Tech Foundry with $50,000 for program development.
Senator Eric lesser was there in attendance to speak to the crowd and students.
Tech Foundry offers a comprehensive computer science curriculum giving students knowledge needed to work with a variety of programs, computer hardware, network solutions.
"It has given me a really good foundation in a lot of different it fields and categories. There was an internship at the end that was really great that gave me some hands on training in the field," said Tierra Hardy.
The free 14-week program has students learn technical and general workplace skills that will allow them to ease into working at local companies in western Massachusetts.
As a non-profit, Tech Foundry relies on the generosity of the community for its workforce training.
