Restaurant Week 2018 got underway Friday in Springfield and it's sure to attract foodies from all over the region.
Something is cooking in Springfield. Restaurant Week 2018 is here and the chefs manning the kitchen are ready for you.
"It's going to be interesting here. We're getting ready, we're excited," said Michael Katsounakis with Mike's East Side Bar and Grill.
Western Mass News stopped by Mike's East Side Bar and Grill, which is back for a third year in a row.
"We get new customers, we have a lot of return customers. We've had great success the last two years. Our business bumped up tremendously," Katsounakis noted.
They're whipping up fish and chips and a whiskey bread pudding smothered in a warm caramel sauce that'll make your jaw drop.
"You would love it," Katsounakis added.
While Mike's is cozy and affordable even without Restaurant Week, your stomach can also rumble for places like Max's Tavern, also returning this year and known for it's upscale dining experience.
"This is an opportunity for you to get to see it for pennies, absolute pennies, in comparison to what it could normally be," said Michael Touranjoe, executive chef at Max's Tavern.
In all, 35 restaurants are participating this year - up nine from last year, but that's not all.
Also new to Restaurant Week is a photo contest for the best picture taken of a meal. You win and a $25 gift card to one of the participating restaurants is yours, so be sure to bring your phone with you.
So go foodies! Explore and whatever you do - show up on an empty stomach.
"Don't worry, you'll be full by the time you're done," Touranjoe said.
Meals during Restaurant Week are being offered at the special price of $20.18.
