SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Police closed down a portion of Bradley Road in Springfield Saturday morning for several hours after a vehicle struck a pole overnight.

Springfield Police Sgt. Piemonte told Western Mass News the accident happened right around 4 a.m.

Luckily, no injuries were reported to the driver, the lone occupant in the vehicle.

However, damage to the pole was significant enough that an Eversource crew was called in to make repairs.

When we went to the scene we did see Eversource there as well as the vehicle that crashed.

Eversource says Bradley Road will re-open around 3 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Police Department.

Western Mass News will update this story as soon as more details come into the newsroom.
