LUDLOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Two Ludlow residents and their dog have been displaced after a fire broke out inside their home Tuesday evening.

Ludlow Fire Captain Ricky Machado told Western Mass News crews were called to a small structure fire on Whitney Street around 8:30 p.m.

When crews got to the scene, they were able to contain the exterior porch fire, Captain Machado said.

Mutual aid from Wilbraham and Springfield also responded.

No injuries were reported. The area was closed for some time while crews worked the scene, but the area has since been reopened.

There's no word yet on what caused the fire. The residents were offered assitance by the Red Cross, but they are staying with family at this time.
