It's that time of the year when many start daydreaming about summer vacation.

Whether it's a quick getaway, or a trip to the tropics, you may get the best bang for your buck by getting your airline tickets this week.
While many may have thought about their vacation plans, now may be the time to pull the trigger and buy those plane tickets.
Based on historical flight data from Hipmunk, the week of April 23 is one of the best times to book domestic flights for the summer.

Jet setters could save12 percent compared to peak booking prices in the summer months.
If you have your heart set on leaving on a holiday you could save even more by booking now.

Western Mass News found that flying over the fourth of July weekend could be up to 14 percent cheaper, and travel over Memorial Day could be up to 16 percent less expensive.
"There is enough advance notice that you will still be able to get lower fares. The closer you get to the summer, the more expensive they are going to get," said Denise Nowak with Doyle Travel Center.

If you're looking to get away, the folks at Doyle Travel Center in Chicopee said be open to other airports, it could save you hundreds of dollars.
"The other day someone called booking a reservation to go to Spain. The only flight available on the dates they wanted to go was over $1,500. By looking at the flights out of New York, I was able to get them a fare of just over $600," said Nowak.
