It looks like today will be the pick of the weekend with increasing sunshine and mild temperatures. A upper level low will bring cooler air and a chance for showers Sunday into Monday before a big warm up arrives for much of next week.
We begin the weekend with clouds and some fog this morning, but a southwesterly breeze will help to start clearing skies early. With a dry afternoon and a mix of sun and clouds on tap, high temps will climb into the 60s and even around 70 in the Springfield area! A very nice day on the way.
An upper level low moving in from the west and an approaching cold front at the surface will bring more clouds in tonight and tomorrow. Showers are possible tonight through Sunday morning mostly, then we may see some breaks of sun Sunday afternoon. The low will keep cooler temperatures around for sure and highs Sunday climb into the middle and upper 50s. Sunday night we see another batch of showers come through and in the Berkshires, some snow may even mix in!
Movement of this low is trending a bit slower, so it is still passing overhead with cool, cloudier weather through Monday. A few showers are possible Monday as well, but some breaks of sun are possible too.
Our weather pattern shifts Tuesday as an upper low moves out and an upper high builds into the South. A ridge will allow warmer air to move up the coast and temperatures return to the 70s Tuesday afternoon with more sunshine. Surface high pressure will also build in, keeping our weather dry and sunnier Wednesday. The sun plus the ridge will help temps climb to around 80! A frontal boundary will linger well to our north Thursday, which will help temps reach lower to middle 80s and continue the dry weather. Showers become possible by Friday.
