SHREWSBURY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

State officials are urging motorists to watch their speeds as the warmer weather begins.

Mass. State Police made that announcement Tuesday on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of a citation that was recently issued along I-290 in Shrewsbury.

The citation noted that in addition to seat belt and inspection sticker violations, the driver of a 2006 Honda Odyssey was reportedly clocked going 115 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour zone.

The total fine: $590.

"At speeds like this, especially without a seat belt on, you are putting yourself in grave danger, as well as those traveling around you," State Police explained.

Troopers explained that with the warmer temperatures upon us, more people will be hitting the roads and enjoying the weather.

"Please keep it slow, kick back, enjoy the warm air, and keep it cool," State Police said.
