A dry start to the weekend with some sunshine

Posted: Updated:

Drier air moves in briefly for today behind a cold front that pushed through the region overnight. Scattered showers will return tomorrow before drier air again returns for the start of the new work week.

Our weekend begins with much lower humidity and more spring-like weather. Skies will become mostly sunny with some clouds beginning to move in by late this afternoon. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 70s. It will be a bit breezy through the morning but winds should get a bit lighter during the afternoon.

Low pressure moving along a stalled front over the Mid-Atlantic will bring more clouds into western Mass tonight. Low pressure will move northeast and stay offshore, but still bring some light, spotty showers to the area for Sunday. Expect a cloudy, cooler day with highs in the lower 60s. A cold front pushes through Sunday night, bringing another shot of dry, cool air for Monday.

Our work week begins dry and cool with sunshine Monday, but highs in the 60s. We have a chilly to cold night with lows falling into the 30s by Tuesday morning-a little frost may occur. Temperatures moderate through midweek with highs getting back into the 70s. A cold front could bring our next chance for showers by Friday, but details are very uncertain at this point.
