(Meredith) -- A viral video captured a Texas teen greeting her prom date with a heartwarming surprise -- by taking her first steps in months.
18-year-old Morgan Coultress said she walked on her own for the first time in 10 months after struggling with conversion disorder, a type of neurological symptom disorder, which affected her leg function. Her first steps in nearly a year were taken to greet her prom date, Tarik Garcia.
Garcia was so surprised to see Coultress walking that he spends a few moments in shock before rushing to embrace her. He shouts, "Oh my God! How did you do that?"
According to CBS4, Coultress said,"At first he didn't respond right away, so I was like, 'OK, when is he going to realize I'm walking?' And then he backed up and made the 'oh!' and then I was like, 'there it is!' I felt so accomplished and joyful."
Coultress shared a video of the surprise on Twitter where it has racked up over 13 million views. Click here to see the video.
KSAT reports Coultress was even crowned prom queen later that night. She said her next goal is to walk on her own for graduation this June.
