West Springfield home shot at, police report

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

A home in West Springfield was shot at overnight in the area of Irving Street.

West Springfield police report that around 3 a.m. Sunday there were shots fired in the vicinity of Irving St.

"Officers responded, discovered that a residence had several bullet holes in the front of the home...an outside exterior wall," Sgt. Michael Reed explained to Western Mass News.

We're told there were residents home at the time of the shooting. Luckily, nobody inside was hurt. 

Responding investigators were able to collect evidence, Sgt. Reed believed that evidence was bullets.   No word exactly how many times the home was hit.

Further details weren't released.

The shooting remains under investigation by the West Springfield Police Department.
