Over a pound of raw heroin seized following car search in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Two Springfield residents face heroin trafficking charges after police pulled them over and searched their vehicle Sunday night.

A Spokesperson for Springfield police said 32-year-old Stanley Burgos, who also is known under the name Roberto Figueroa-Alverez, and 31-year-old Arelis Gonzalez were pulled over on the 800 block of Worthington Street around 8 p.m.

The car search resulted in approximately 1.29 pounds of raw heroin and 585 grams of heroin seized. 

Burgos and Gonzalez were charged with heroin trafficking over 200 grams. Burgos was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
