A former nightclub in Springfield will soon be transformed into a sit down restaurant.

The future of the now-closed Club Pandora, formerly known as the Kick Back Lounge, was announced Tuesday night during a meeting with concerned residents along with the Pine Point Community Council and petitioners.

Club Pandora is set to reopen as Cosmo's restaurant which will serve Jamaican and American cuisine.

Back when it was the Kick Back Lounge, Mayor Domenic Sarno suspended the club's entertainment license after two men were killed in the parking lot.

The club was also the subject of multiple disturbances and complaints prior to that.

Cosmo's restaurant will be run under the same ownership as Club Pandora, according to Pine Point Community Council President, John Lysak.

Lysak said some people were upset during Tuesday night's meeting knowing that the restaurant will be run by the same club owner.

The restaurant does plan to close at 10 p.m. during the week and 11:30 p.m. on Friday's and Saturday's.

Lysak noted that members of the Pine Point Community Council and the community will be allowed to keep an eye on the restaurant's progress.

The neighborhood council will hold a meeting on June 12 to discuss whether or not they think the restaurant should obtain a liquor license.
