Northampton man charged in connection to violent attack in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

A Northampton man has been charged in connection with a violent attack in Springfield Tuesday night. 

Springfield police said the victim was beaten and robbed in his own home on Belmont Avenue around 7 p.m.

The victim was found beaten and bleeding by police and told officers he had just been robbed in his own home.

Police were able were able to get a description of the suspect from the victim.

From there, authorities quickly tracked down and arrested 43-year-old Charles Pulliam on Fort Pleasant Avenue. 

Pulliam is now facing several felony charges including unarmed robbery, assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person, and unarmed burglary with assault on an occupant.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. No word on their condition at this time.
