We're heading to Easthampton for this week's 'Western Mass Brews' and it's a birthday celebration for one local brewery!
Starting at noon today Abandoned Building Brewery will celebrate 4 years of operation in Easthampton. And what better way to celebrate than a beer garden and special released brews.
Let's check out what you can expect at Abandoned Building's anniversary party which will kick off rain or shine. It's an event that's expected to draw hundreds who will be raising a pint to 4 years of great beer.
"Every year it gets a little bit bigger we have a full beer garden in the garden it's rain or shine we will have a tent set up. It's a family friendly event bring the kids we will have games outside," says Bryan Provost, Assistant Brewer Abandoned Building.
Located right off of the bike path they've made some special plans for those who intend to stop by the party on two wheels. Note: there will be tents set up.
"You can come off the trail give your bike to the bike valet and they will keep it safe and locked up for the duration of the event," Bryan explains to Western Mass News.
For those who are regulars at Abandoned Building, what better way to celebrate their 4 year anniversary than with new brews...Bryan says you'll have to stop by to see for yourself.
"We do have some special releases that I won't go into too much detail it is a surprise we do have an anniversary beer that we will be releasing a special bottle release and some cask beers."
He could tell us however about two brews you can find in the taproom which will be open during the outdoor beer garden...The first being Pan Galactic IPA.
"Really nice hazy citrusy IPA a little juicy not over the top. We also have temporary insanity that is a malt based IPA which is also very good," Bryan notes.
He told us, "Business has been steady and Easthampton has been evolving that we have been a part of it in the last 4 years and it's been a great place to set up this brewery and get into some fun times."
Abandoned Building Brewery is located at 142 Pleasant Street.
The festivities kick off at noon with live music starting at 1 o'clock, the beer garden will run until 8 and their taproom will also be open from noon until 10.
Entry into the beer garden is $5 which will include a commemorative anniversary pint glass.
