Over 200 people without power due to downed power lines

Posted: Updated:

Downed wires on Laurel Street are causing quite the headache this Mother's Day.

The incident was first reported to police a little after 6 a.m. Sunday morning, leaving over 250 customers without power.

Power has since been restored, according to Longmeadow Police, and Laurel Street has since been re-opened.

What caused the outage remains unclear, and Eversource tells us they're working to figure that out.

What we do know is that this whole problem was just a one customer issue, but crews had to cut power to the rest of the impacted homes while they made their repairs.

Longmeadow police headquarters was hit by the outage as well, but they did have generators that were operational.

We’ll provide you with more information as soon as we learn more.
