Mostly cloudy skies on the way tonight. Warming up for the start of the work week

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Happy Mother's Day! After a mild day today we will see temperatures getting warmer for Monday and Tuesday. There is the chance for scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm on Tuesday. Shower chances will continue into late week.

Clouds will begin to build back in tonight but it should remain dry. It will be another cool night as lows drop back into the lower to middle 40s. We start out with clouds again tomorrow morning but we once again should manage some sunshine as we head into the afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the lower 70s Monday afternoon, a couple of degrees above average.

The warmest day of the week looks like it will be on Tuesday as highs rise into the upper 70s and lower 80s. It will also feel a touch more humid and there is the chance for some scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm as a cold front approaches the region.

The second half of the week looks unsettled with a stalled front to our north and south and waves of low pressure riding along them. This will bring in waves of showers and keep clouds around through Friday.
