Victim of deadly Springfield shooting identified

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

One person is dead following a late night shooting in Springfield.

Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Adams and Main Streets around 11:40 p.m. Sunday.

Walsh said upon arrival, investigators located a gunshot victim near a bus stop on Main Street.

That victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

James Leydon, spokesperson for the Hamdpen County District Attorney's office, said that the victim has been identified as 36-year-old Angel Calo of Springfield.

The incident remains under investigation.
