SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Tuesday's storms created travel issues here in western Massachusetts, but conditions were worse across Connecticut and New York.

There were some weather related delays in Springfield's Union Station all night.

There were a few delays with Peter Pan,Greyhound, and Amtrak trains as well.

Bernice Kwade was one of several people waiting at Springfield's Union Station Tuesday night as powerful  storms wreaked havoc across southern New England.

Kwade said she was supposed to get on a Greyhound bus to New York City, but because of weather issues in Connecticut, she had to ride the wait out at Union Station.

Bradley International Airport had to suspend flights for awhile as the storms rolled through.

Over in Hampden, South Road was closed after an accident around 4:45 p.m.

"We saw the firetrucks. police and the ambulance and then ten minutes later, the power went out," said Hampden resident, Colleen Forester.

Hampden Police said one person was trapped inside the car and power had to be cut to the area to get that person out.

"We thought it was thunder and lighting. That's probably what we were thinking it was, we didn't realize that anyone was in trouble," Forester added.

Hampden police did not say if the person in the car was injured.
