Tickets for the upcoming Stevie Wonder concert are now on-sale online and at the MassMutual Center to the general public.

One of music's most popular and prominent figures will rock the stage September 1.

It's a highlight of MGM Springfield's opening week festivities and people are wasting no time grabbing their tickets.

The wait is over for die-hard Stevie Wonder fans.  Some got the MassMutual Center box office in Springfield before it even opened to get their tickets for this highly anticipated concert at MGM Springfield this summer.

"I was here at 7:30," said Glennis Brown.
Brown, like many other fans young and old, arrived at MassMutual Center to buy tickets, but the only reason we saw Brown at all was because he had a little trouble this morning.

"I was number 7 and I'm back again with no tickets," Brown explained.

Brown tried to buy tickets online, but so did everyone else, which slowed things down to a snail's pace.

"The computer was overwhelmed by just how much stuff was starting at 10 o'clock and so we had to wait and wait and wait," said Bob Druwes of Chicopee.

MGM did not report any problems on their end and in a matter of hours, things improved.  Both Brown and Druwes picked up their tickets in person.

'Stevie Wonder's Song Party: Celebrating Life, Love, and Music' is expected to sell out the 5,300 seat capacity MassMutual Center for September 1.

MGM Springfield told Western Mass News that about 1,200 pre-sale tickets were sold last week, while more than 2,200 tickets were sold in the first hour Monday morning.

Prices range from $69 to $225 dollars, depending on seat selection.

Whether you get the seat you want or not, Brown told Western Mass News that this concert will be worth every penny for a Stevie Wonder experience unlike any other.

"He just has a talent that no one else has.  The music that he does play, the keyboard, and instrument that he plays, it's amazing to see it," Brown noted.

You can buy tickets in-person at the MassMutual Center box office or online.
