The ex-boyfriend of a Springfield high school student who was stabbed death back in 2015 has been found guilty of her Murder.
Nickolas T. Lacrosse charged in connection to the death of Kathryn Mauke was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday in Hampden Superior Court.
Mauke was just 17-years-old at the time. Lacrosse, who was 20-years-old at the time, stabbed her to death inside her East Springfield home on Prentice Street on the afternoon of February 11, 2015.
Lacrosse was arrested less than 8 hours after the police investigation began into Mauke's murder.
Mauke was a senior at Sabis International Charter School on Joan Street in Springfield and she had been awarded a full four-year scholarship to American International College after taking first prize in the 75th Model Congress at the college.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni tells Western Mass News, “My sympathy continues to be with Kathryn’s family and friends as they continue to cope with their tragic loss.”
Lacrosse is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.
