SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

A man who was reportedly wanted in Florida for burglary was arrested early Saturday morning for attempting to break into a home in Springfield, according to police.

Police responded to the 300 block of White Street around 3:30 a.m. after someone reported that a man was trying to get into a home.

When officers got to the house, they saw 37-year-old Angel Matos on the front porch and he began yelling at officers stating that he lived there.

Police determined Matos did not live there through a records check that showed he had a Prospect Street address, and that he was wanted for a burglary in Florida.

Matos was charged with a Fugitive from Justice warrant, unarmed burglary, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
