People that live on Page Boulevard said that home was quiet and no reason to suspect anything foul could be happening while they went about their lives.
Heartbroken - that's the word we heard over and over again from neighbors.
Most people said that they didn't even know anyone lived here and are shocked to see something like this in their backyard.
"This is crazy. Nothing like this happened here. We never have no problems like this. It's a quiet neighborhood," said Carlos Santiago.
A largely tight-knit neighborhood with a mystery behind closed doors.
Residents like Michelle Costa said that they came home to flashing lights.
"I came down 291 and came off my exit to get here and it was closed. When I came into this street, I saw all these cops and everything out there," Costa noted.
Neighbors told Western Mass News that criminal activity is not typical for the neighborhood.
"It's otherwise a fairly quiet neighborhood...safe and place where a lot of good hardworking folks live. Sometimes these aberrations happen," said Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni.
However, the heinous nature of these crimes leave residents particularly unnerved.
"Really quiet...there's never been any problems. It's a nice neighborhood, it's scary," Costa added.
Some residents who live nearby said they did not even know the house was occupied, but the learning about two lives lost have many uneasy.
"It's a scary situation," Costa said.
While many details are still unfolding, law enforcement said that there is no threat to the community.
