An East Springfield community remains in shock, after police made a gruesome discovery on Thursday.
"It's a terrible, terrible situation," stated Kathleen Brown of the East Springfield Neighborhood Council. "My heart goes out to victims and their families."
The bodies of at least three people were found at 1333 Page Boulevard, their identities remain unknown.
For days now, a single lane on Page Boulevard has been closed as police continue their investigation.
Neighbors tell us they're shocked by this news and this is a close, tight-knit community, one that they would have never expected something like this to have happened in.
Kathleen Brown is on the neighborhood council and calls East Springfield home.
She tells Western Mass News this home, surrounded by yellow tape and police, should serve as a wake-up call.
"We're going to go on protecting and improving the neighborhood," stated Brown. "And getting neighborhood people involved and calling the police, calling the appropriate person that when they see something that looks a little suspicious."
On the first and third Tuesday of each month, the council meets to discuss things like improving the safety of the community.
She also says that on the third Tuesday of this month, June 19th, police investigating the scene on Page Boulevard will join the meeting.
The hope, Kathleen says, is to prevent something like this from happening again.
"We've received a multitude of calls," Brown tells us. "From people in the neighborhood and they have all expressed that same feeling."
