We continue to learn more about the bodies of three women that were recovered at a home on Page Boulevard in Springfield.
Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni released the identities of those three woman on Monday.
This all comes as Stewart Weldon, a man who lived in that home on 1333 Page Boulevard, was arraigned on new charges in an unrelated kidnapping case.
It's been an emotional week for the east Springfield community as friends and families of the victims said they’re still processing.
"Having just made contact with families, they are understandably distraught," said Gulluni.
Gulluni identified the woman who were recovered in an around the home on Page Boulevard as:
Stacy Fernandes has been friends with America since they were 12. She said they met while volunteering at a camp.
America’s family was looking for her since Christmas, when she was reported missing to the Springfield Police Department.
Stacy said she can’t believe this is how America’s story ends.
"She struggled to get herself back together and she did. She was accomplishing all that it was unfortunate that this happened," said Fernandes.
America was the mother of two teenage daughters. Stacy said the 34-year-old single mom was trying to complete her GED.
"We are investigating this death as suspicious at the very least," said Gulluni.
Along with America, police found the remains of 27-year-old Kayla Escalante, who was also a young mom. She was never reported as missing.
The third body is 47-year-old Ernestine Ryans, her family reported her missing in March.
So far a suspect hasn’t been named, but the property where the bodies were found is the last known address of Stewart Weldon.
Stacy said she is planning a benefit for America’s children, once that’s set up, we’ll let you know the details.
