Shooting at Springfield night club sends one to hospital

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

One person was sent to the hospital after a shooting overnight in Springfield.

Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that around 12:40 a.m. Friday, police responded to the parking lot of Fifth Alarm on Worthington Street for a ShotSpotter activation.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was taken to Baystate Medical Center with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
