SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Springfield Police are now releasing new details on the Page Boulevard investigation where three bodies were found last week.

Stewart Weldon lives on the property and faces two separate kidnapping charges.

We’re learning what happened between the discovery of kidnapping his victims to the discovery of the dead bodies.

There are a lot of questions surrounding the investigation that remain, but now, we’re getting a closer look into what led police to that 1333 Page Boulevard home where they uncovered three bodies.

Springfield Police said that on Sunday, May 27, officers tried to pull over Weldon for a busted tail light.

After a brief chase, police said that Weldon crashed into a cruiser.

Investigators added that say a woman inside the car told officers she was held against her will and has been sexually assaulted and tortured in a Page Boulevard home.

The woman was taken to the hospital and Weldon was placed in cuffs.

Springfield Police returned to the Page Boulevard home roughly two-and-a-half days after that car stop.

Why not sooner?  Police said that the victim lived with Weldon at that home and she did not indicate to anyone that anyone else lived at the home or there was a need to go back to the home immediately.

Police added that investigators went to the home, discovered the bodies, then went to speak with the kidnapping victim.  However, they were not able to speak with the victim until after May 30 because of her condition.

Springfield Police said that in total, they have arrested Weldon 16 times and he was charged with 68 offenses since 2002, including resisting arrest, carrying a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, and armed kidnapping with serious bodily injury.

The Springfield Police Department also filed eight additional criminal complaints against Weldon.

Weldon has not been charged in connection with these suspicious deaths.

Authorities said Friday that active search for evidence has concluded at 1333 Page Boulevard.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
