A card game turned violent overnight in Springfield.
Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that around 3:45 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an Allen Street home and upon arrival found three men standing around another man who had been stabbed.
The four men were reportedly involved in a regular card game at the home of 26-year-old Lal Pradhan at the time of the incident.
Pradhan allegedly broke the mirror off of one of the victim's vehicles. He then got a knife out of his own car and allegedly then stabbed one man whom he was involved with in a fight.
When another man tried to break up that fight, he was also stabbed.
"The men involved told police that Mr. Pradhan accused an eventual victim of cheating in the card game. As the group tried to leave the home, a fist fight broke out between Pradhan and the man accused of cheating," Walsh explained.
Pradhan was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
All three were transported to Baystate Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
