PD: 2 arrested for breaking into cars in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

Springfield police arrested two people who are accused of breaking into several cars Sunday night. 

A post on the Springfield Police Department's Facebook page, police charged 18-year-old James Scott and a juvenile with three felony counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle (nighttime). 

Officers responded to Colran Street around 11:40 p.m. for reports that cars were getting broken into by suspects who were riding bicycles.

Police said they located Scott and the juvenile on their bikes at the intersection of Bay Street and Bay Meadow Road and placed them into custody. 

When officers went back to Colran Street, they said three cars were broken into.
