Dozens gathered on Saturday in Springfield, standing in solidarity with families who are being separated at the U.S.-Mexican border.

Massachusetts jobs with justice, Out-Now and Pioneer Valley workers were just a few of the organizations that came out for the 'Families Belong Together' rally.

People gathered at Court Square calling for change on policies and practices separating families throughout the nation.

Saturday's rally centers on people who have been affected by the latest government policies, and community members are speaking out on how to resolve the crisis at the border.

"I've been to other marches," Easthampton resident Carolyn Cushing tells us. "And there are people who haven't come to things before, but this is appalling. This cannot stand, and we're standing up to say this is not how we want this country to be and that families must be together."

Saturday's rally featured several local speakers.

'Families Belong Together' is being held in seven hundred other communities throughout the United States.
