WILBRAHAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -

A car fire causes Stony Hill Road to temporarily shut down.

Captain Kevin Brown of the Wilbraham Fire Department tells Western Mass News that a person's car had caught fire while they were driving, prompting them to immediately pull over.

The operator of the vehicle pulled into a Wilbraham resident's driveway, located on 692 Stony Hill Rd.

No word on if there were any passengers in the vehicle.

The driver, who hasn't been identified yet, was transported to the hospital for a burn.

Stony Hill Rd was shut down for over an hour, because of not only the car fire, but due to an issue regarding a nearby telephone.

Brown tells us that the two incidents are not related, but the electric company was called in to fix the issue.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Wilbraham Police.
