Unless you have a fridge that automatically dispenses ice, this means ice cube trays.

Patience is a necessary virtue here, unless you actually enjoy when water splashes out of the ice cube tray.

Turns out that we shouldn't be dumping water into each ice cube slot, but into the spaces between them.

The tray acts as a channel to direct the water to where it needs to go.
