Chris Pisano is a proud native of Western Mass., having grown up in Agawam. (Go Brownies!) His nearly 20 year career in broadcast news brought him to destinations all across the county, but he is finally happy to call the Pioneer Valley home once again.
Chris was born in Springfield and was graduated from Agawam High School. He earned his BA in Journalism and Political Science at UMass Amherst, and then went on to graduate school at Emerson College in Boston.
Chris took his first TV job in Macon, Georgia and continued his career in Grand Rapids, MI, Kansas City, MO, and Indianapolis, IN.
Some of his professional highlights include training for a week with the US Marine Corp in San Diego and covering Pope John Paul II's visit to North America at World Youth Day in Toronto, Canada. He's also been the recipient of some of broadcasts highest awards, including two Emmys for Best Newscast and one for Breaking News Coverage.
Chris has always believed in serving the communities in which he's lived. Because of this he's been involved with numerous charities and causes throughout the years. He served as MC and host for the MDA Labor Day telethon for nearly a decade. In 2007 he was flown to Las Vegas for the national MDA conference where he helped coach other TV hosts from around the country. He has also volunteered his time and energy to the ALS Association, fighting to find a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease. In 2001, he was recognized for his commitment with the National ALS Voice of Courage Award – still one of the proudest moments of his life.
Chris currently lives in Agawam.
