Raegan Loughrey

Raegan Loughrey joined the Western Mass News team in January 2021 as a news producer and eventually worked her way up to the hybrid role of news reporter and producer.

Raegan graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in communication. During her time at UMass, Raegan was a part of the production and hosting of UMass Beyond the Classroom, a talk show directed and produced by students on-campus, while also holding an internship in marketing.

Raegan is a Holyoke native who attended Holyoke High School and was involved in several activities including high school and all-star cheerleading for the USA Wildcats. She also was a volunteer coach for Holyoke youth cheerleading. In addition to cheering, Raegan was also a dancer and gymnast. In her younger years, she wrote for the school's newspaper, the Holyoke High Herald, and even had a few articles published in the Holyoke Sun.

When Raegan is not reporting, she enjoys weightlifting, along with spin and aerial classes. She also loves writing poetry and freelance modeling, along with interior design projects and party planning.

Raegan’s dream was always to pursue TV journalism and her mom Andrea, who passed away in 2016, always shared that same ambition for her, which is why Raegan is happy to wake up every day and make her mom proud.
