(Meredith) – A man in Mobile County, Alabama, tried to escape from a police interview room by crawling through an air conditioning vent, authorities said.

According to WALA, Donald Ray Reed Jr. was arrested on two counts of robbery in the first degree and escape in the first degree.

Reed allegedly robbed a gas station and pulled a knife on the clerk before fleeing the scene in a stolen truck on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police pursued Reed, but he left the truck and fled on foot, evading police until he was arrested Thursday, December 6, 2018, around 9 a.m.

He then allegedly attempted to escape police custody by crawling through an air vent inside the interview room.
