A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit central California Wednesday morning.

(Meredith) -- A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit central California Wednesday morning.

The epicenter was near Cartago, about 180 miles north of Los Angeles.

Witnesses told ABC News that the shaking was "intense" and some even felt shaking in Los Angeles. However, no immediate damage or injuries were noticed.
